Fractional Laser vs. Fully Ablative Laser
What to Expect - Fractional
Erbium Laser fractional lens is a "gentler" approach to skin resurfacing. Perfect for skin resurfacing FACE and also for sun damage on neck, chest, arms and hands. Less social downtime.
Frequency - 3 treatments a month apart
Patient will feel hot/sunburn sensations which can last a few hours. Will settle down using hand fan or chiller.
Social downtime can be one to few days. Patient may be pink 2-4 days. Patient may be itchy and light peeling (like a retinoid).
Use Aquaphor for 24-48 hours as needed and mild lotion thereafter. Patients can use products in about 3 days (including any lightening lotions).
Important Aftercare for Long Lasting Results: Use a zinc-based sunblock daily.
What to Expect - Fully Ablative
Erbium Laser wavelength attracted to water. Skin resurfacing FACE and also for sun damage on chest, arms, and legs.
Frequency - 3 treatments a month apart.
Patient will feel hot/sunburn sensations which can last a few hours. Will settle down using hand fan or chiller.
Social downtime can be up to a week. Patient will be red and/or spots turn brown, to 3-7 days itchy and peeling.
Use Aquaphor for 1 to 7 days and mild lotion or soap.
Patients can resume using products after 7 days (including any lightening lotions)
Important Aftercare for Long Lasting Results: Use a zinc-based sunblock daily.
About Our Lasers
Blue LED (415nm)
Based on industry research, Blue LED light may be successful in treating active acne and may improve acne flareups. May notice improvement in 2 weeks, more improvement in 4 weeks and could have total clearing in 8 weeks.
Industry research shows Blue LED may also be effective in regulating mood and circadian rhythms. May assist with sleep disorders. May support a stressed liver.
Green LED (532nm)
Based on industry research Green LED light may be successful in treating skin issues such as generalized redness, rosacea, dark circles, pigmentation, and broken capillaries.
Industry research also shows that deep tissue can be affected by Green LED light. The Emerald Laser (Zerona) claims to reduce adipose tissue. Emerald's highest power is 160 mW/cm2 and their treatment plan 30 minutes 3x week for 2 weeks.
Red LED (633nm)
Based on industry research Red LED light may also be successful in treating chronic inflammation, pigmentation, and generalized redness.
